Eviation Alice: The First All-Electric Commuter Aircraft

Eviation's Alice is an all-electric aircraft designed to accommodate nine passengers and two crew members. It is the first electric aircraft to be designed from the ground up for commercial use. The Alice is powered by two Magni650 electric motors, which produce a combined 850 horsepower. It has a range of 250 nautical miles (463 kilometers) and a maximum cruising speed of 260 knots (481 kilometers per hour).

The Alice is still under development, but Eviation expects to begin commercial deliveries in 2027. The company has already received over 200 pre-orders for the aircraft from airlines and other customers around the world.

The Alice is expected to revolutionize regional air travel. It is much quieter and more environmentally friendly than traditional jet aircraft. It is also cheaper to operate, which could lead to lower ticket prices for passengers.

Here are some of the key benefits of the Eviation Alice:

  • Zero emissions: The Alice is powered by electricity, so it produces zero emissions. This is a major benefit for the environment, as the aviation industry is a major contributor to climate change.
  • Reduced noise: The Alice is much quieter than traditional jet aircraft. This is because electric motors are much quieter than gas turbines. This is a major benefit for communities near airports, as it will reduce noise pollution.
  • Lower operating costs: The Alice is cheaper to operate than traditional jet aircraft. This is because electricity is much cheaper than jet fuel. This could lead to lower ticket prices for passengers.

The Eviation Alice is a promising new aircraft that has the potential to revolutionize regional air travel. It is quieter, more environmentally friendly, and cheaper to operate than traditional jet aircraft. With over 200 pre-orders already received, it is clear that there is a lot of interest in the Alice. It will be exciting to see how the aircraft performs in commercial service in the coming years.
